Emoto claims that human speech or thoughts have dramatic effects on water. He claims that, depending on the nature of the speech or thoughts directed at water, when the water is frozen its crystals will be “beautiful” or “ugly” depending on whether the thoughts were positive or negative.
Artists that paint on water (ebru, marbling, suminagashi...) know that the water doesn't lie and you can't hide your feelings from it. Especially ebru artists need inner peace to do their art or it won't work. I wonder if Emoto, as Japanese ever tried suminagashi...
